Glacier Positions are available for:

We are looking for energetic, enthusiastic folks who are good team players. Must be capable of working well with others in a remote environment. All positions are seasonal. Dates vary depending on the camp you are working in but typically run from May through September. Some handler positions are shorter term and college students are encouraged to apply.

Mushers and handlers work directly with the sled dogs & guests. They must be professional in appearance and manner. These positions are responsible for caring for all of the dogs needs and operating tours in a safe, professional manner. Applicants must be physically fit and capable of lifting 50 pounds on a regular basis.

Glacier Tour Attendant/Photographers must be professional in appearance and manner. Experience in sales is preferred. This position works directly with helicopters loading and unloading visitors and freight as well as taking and selling photos. In addition to providing quality tours all employees must take turns at camp chores including dishes, honey bucket, trail cleaning/grooming, camp moving.

Expediters provide logistical support for supplies and crew. Must be organized and reliable. Primary ground contact for glacier camp. Works directly with the helicopters loading and unloading supplies. Prior office experience is preferred but not required.

Positions for mushers/handlers and photographers may be available for Gold Rush Dog Tours in Juneau. If you are interested in a ground based job rather than glacier job please inquire.

All successful applicants must have current 1st Aid/CPR card submitted prior to going to the ice field. ETT/EMT/WFA certifications are encouraged. Other skills that are helpful include carpentry, small engine mechanics, past experience working with helicopters, wilderness experience and/or glacier training.
